DOF forming subsea service giant with Maersk Supply Service acquisition

DOF Group has agreed to acquire Maersk Supply Service for about $1.112 billion from A.P. Møller Holding.

Maersk Supply Service will be incorporated into a new subsidiary, DOF Offshore Holding Denmark, which will be one of the largest oil services companies listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange.

The transaction will provide DOF with a modern fleet of 22 vessels, comprising eight construction support vessels, 13 anchorhandler tug supply vessels and one cable layer.

DOF Group will then have a fleet of 79 offshore subsea vessels, of which 65 are fully owned, with growth potential from renewal of legacy contracts and additional subsea services. It will also have a workforce of more than 5,400 employees.

Last year A.P. Moller - Maersk reached an agreement with A.P. Moller Holding, parent company of the A.P. Moller Group, on the sale of Maersk Supply Service for $685 million.
